One thing which separates the cooks from the chefs is the ability to create new products. Today, we’re giving the R&D people over at KFC Hong Kong a thumbs up for their hybridization of two of our favorite foods: fried chicken and pizza.
Yes, what happens when the world opens up and offers you divine deep fryer inspiration? You take your favorites and put them together. We’ve seen pizza egg rolls, but this feat rises to the (questionable) pinnacle of fast food.
Take your own chicken up a notch, bread it with a little mozzarella and cheddar, put it with some marinara sauce and you’ve got delicious food gold. If you’re interested in taking your commercial deep fryer a little further, don’t be shy about putting it with an eggroll or two in Hong Kong.
This isn’t just a case of ingenuity at work, this is the case of two brands within the same company working together. YUM Brands, who owns Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and KFC – three of the most beloved brands in the world – probably had a late night cookout with their chefs.
Now, all we need is for the Taco Bell people to join the mix. Crispy chicken burritos instead of the grilled chicken. We’d like to see a mashed potato driven paradise, but that’s just one of our wild, wild visions.
