Give your Kitchen a Fresh Start with Vinegar

The New Year is all about getting that fresh start, and that goes for your commercial microwave. While you might give it a dash here and there with the sponge, when was the last time that you gave it a deep cleaning? A little spill here and there inside the chamber can add up to some serious junk on the floor and walls.

Vinegar is one of the best substances on the planet. It can (and has) been used for so many cleaning purposes that it’s ridiculous, and just because you might have used it at home doesn’t mean that you can’t use it as the perfect cleaning solution for your restaurant and commercial microwaves.

Get a microwave safe bowl and pour in equal parts of vinegar and water. Somewhere between half a cup and a cup of it will work for this purpose. Toss a wooden spoon into the bowl, and heat it up for around five to ten minutes.

You’re going to see beautiful levels of steam build up in your microwave. Don’t be alarmed. When it’s done, let the mixture sit, and then start wiping down the inside of the chamber. The steam will loosen the food stuff, so it should wipe right off. It’s something that a server or a busser can do in under fifteen minutes and can make all the difference in the world.
