Restaurant Week has become a huge affair where restaurants in the area are celebrated and diners are treated to foods that they might not have had a chance to eat. Are these culinary extravaganzas becoming too big for their Robot Coupe food processors? Some believe that they are.
Let’s take a look at the New York City area, for instance. There are a LOT of restaurants in New York, and there are over 350 restaurants which participate in the local restaurant week. Some critics are complaining that the exclusivity isn’t there anymore – if everyone is promoting the restaurant week, then there is nothing special about it.
“Restaurant Week has become Restaurant Month. It doesn’t have the same impact as it used to have,” says a non-participant in Restaurant Week. There are also several efforts which promote regional and international food during the year. Despite the length of time being spent on the promotion, those that are working with the participating restaurants say that it’s well worth it, still.
“The feedback we’re getting from eateries is overwhelmingly positive,” says a spokesman of the advertising agency. These restaurants offer a discount and get exposure, getting to use their Robot Coupe food processors more.
What do you think about the restaurant week in your area? Do you think that it should be restructured to make it more special?
