What do you think about allowing dogs in the outdoor areas of your restaurants? It’s not like they’re going to be running around in the back near the Ice-O-Matic ice machines, but there is still controversy surrounding having our furry friends sitting near the tables.
On one hand, those who are walking through the streets would have a chance to sit and dine without having to head back to their apartments and then come out. On the other hand, there are regulations about cleanliness that come into play when there are dogs sitting near the table.
And, well, New York City has passed laws to help out those who want to have dogs at the tables, but then they added requirements for that allowance which are nearly impossible to casually fulfill. For example, those who brought their pooches would have to bring licensure for their pups before allowed to be seated.
The owners of restaurants would also need to effectively quarantine the dogs from other diners and from the people on the sidewalk. They would not be able to rest in the space between tables, nor would they be able to touch any of the dining surfaces.
So, in order for the dogs to be able to come into the restaurant and sniff near the Iceomatic ice machines, they would have to have proof of their license and basically be kept in a corner until the end of the meal. What do you think about having dogs in your restaurant?
