There's a price war going on! McDonald's and Wendy's released $4 menus to attract value-minded customers. Not to be outdone by the other two, BK launched its own $4 menu. Meals under the new menu include small fries, a bacon cheeseburger, and a drink. You can also pick up a 4-piece chicken nuggets and a cookie.
Everyone loves a good deal, but will the other quick service restaurants get in the race to remain competitive? Will we see something coming from Hardee’s, the land of the 1,300+ calorie Monster Thickburger? One company has had $4 combos for a long time now, though they're not a QSR establishment: Steak and Shake, land of the steakburgers. They’re delightfully juicy, but there’s also an incredibly wide variety in burgers that you’re not going to see in fast food chains.
But will the new menus work to bring customers back? The QSR's have been losing ground to fast-casual restaurants for a while now. People are willing to wait a little bit longer for higher-quality food despite our ever-quickening schedules. Time will tell if the $4 breakfast is heating up grills as quickly as McDonald's switch to all-day breakfast has done for that brand.
At the very least, if you have a Lincoln burning a hole on your pocket you can now get a cheap meal in at least four different restaurants!
