Restaurant Ratings Plummet After Bad Customer Service Experience

Keeping your restaurant running in tip-top condition requires not only the attention to detail with food and maintaining costs, but also customer service. After all, customers are the ones who are being served and who pay the bills. You don’t need restaurant dinnerware if there are no people passing through the doors.

The wait staff in restaurants need to consistently work on their people skills – not merely for their own tips, but to make sure that the restaurant itself maintains and upholds its reputation. In our socially-connected world, a bad experience can have far-reaching effects for a place.

One couple decided that the wait staff of a local restaurant was being insulting and rude. They said that one of the waiters harassed them for their relationship status. It was said that the waiter “got really upset with us and said we’re going to go to hell” and then started to demonstrate using salt and pepper shakers what was meant.

What’s happened since the couple posted their encounter on Facebook is that their ratings have plummeted. It’s affecting the business of the restaurant, and there have been legal actions taken on both sides. “I know she’s mad and she had a right to complain. It’s just unprofessionally done, trying to bash my restaurant, even if she had a problem with one employee. We want to settle it in a proper way.”
