Have You Used Your Commercial Griddle Today?

We’re fans of creativity and making the most out of every piece of equipment in the kitchen.  We’re tired of seeing the panini press used only for sandwiches and the waffle iron used only for waffles.  We also know that the commercial griddle can do so much more than advertised – after all, it’s a flat, heated surface… how nifty is that?

There are many people who would limit their griddle to the world of pancakes.  And yes, the griddle is fantastic for making pancakes – almost like it was made for it – but the griddle goes far beyond that.  Let me whisper two words into your ear, “Waffle House.”

At Waffle House, nearly everything is cooked on the griddle.  If they didn’t have state-of-the-art waffle irons, they would probably do their waffles on there, as well. You name it, it’s probably cooked on the griddle.

  • Texas Toast
  • Eggs
  • Omelets
  • Bacon
  • Hash Browns
  • Chicken
  • Steak
  • Veggies

Yes, we could go on and on about what’s cooked on the griddle at the Waffle House, but that’s not necessary.  The point is that you could build an entire restaurant around the griddle and use small stock pots and frying pans to make up for any necessary sauces.

Tomorrow, we’re going to talk more about the recipes that you can use for your griddle.  So, until next time keep cooking!
