Blakeslee
Blakeslee began in 1880 in the Chicago area, with the invention of the first mechanical washing machine by George Blakeslee. Within 15 years, Blakeslee had successfully upgraded his design and entered into full production. The goal was to provide a commercial dish and pot washing solution for hotels, roadhouses, and restaurants. Blakeslee machines were hand built by skilled craftsmen and were being sold all over the United States.
By the early 20th Century, Blakeslee developed the first rackless, continuous conveyor-type dish machine. By 1912, Blakeslee was also shipping and serving the Canadian market. As they continued to grow, Blakeslee became known in the foodservice industry as "The Experts" in dishwashing machine design. In the 1950's and 1960's, Blakeslee's product line was expanded to include motorized equipment such as planetary mixers, vegetable peelers, and food slicers. The company applied the same innovation and manufacturing methods to the prep equipment as they relied upon when creating their dishwashing equipment.
Today, Blakeslee offers dishwasher and other commercial kitchen equipment with state-of-the-art electronics, energy and resource efficiency, and durable construction.
