The KSUV-18 is a wall-mounted lockable stainless steel knife sterilizer cabinet with a UV-filtered plexiglass door that holds up to 12 knives (2 larger slots accommodate cleavers) and provides superior sterilization with Helios UV Antimicrobial protection.

The mechanical timer on this can be set for up to 15 minutes, but can safely sterilize your knives in as little as 3 minutes with 99% reduction in E. coli bacteria as indicated by independent laboratory testing.

The exclusive non-filtering clear slotted knife holder in this knife sterilizer cabinet and the mirrored interior walls eliminate shadows on knife surfaces that could prevent complete sterilization.

The knife sterilizer cabinet is an electric unit that runs at 115 Volts, 60 Hertz, 1-phase for 70 Watts of power and it uses a standard NEMA 5-15P plug.

This knife cabinet features LED light to indicate when sterilization is in process and it has a keyed lockable handle that provides added security.

This knife rack is NSF listed for safety, and the cabinet is ETL listed in the United States and Canada, and all of the components are proudly made in the USA.

Edlund's KSUV-18 Knife Sterilizing Cabinet is currently being re-purposed by facilities as a part of their process for sterilizing masks. Note: that the KSUV-18 has NOT been tested specifically for COVID-19. End users of the KSUV-18 should first refer to the CDC Guidelines regarding personal protection equipment, specifically masks.

UV-C sterilizing technology has been well documented for use on certain viruses, bacteria, and E. Coli.

The KSUV-18 has a mirrored interior finish and a clear, non-filtering plastic holder that allow for the complete sterilization of the contents because no shadowed areas remain in the compartment where the UV light cannot contact.

The CDC specifically recommends against the re-use of masks. However, they consider the current situation a "Crisis" and have amended their position to allow re-use after one of 3 sterilization methods, one of which is UV-C. Of the 3 methods, UV-C is the least degrading to the masks and fittings.

AGAIN, facilities wishing to use the KSUV-18 Cabinet as part of their processes for sterilizing Filtering Facepiece Respirators (FFRs) should FIRST consult the CDC Recommendations. Edlund has not tested anything other than knives in these UV Cabinets.
