Gemu090 Ice Production

The Ice-O-Matic GEMU090 is an undercounter style ice maker, complete with integrated storage bin. The GEMU090 Undercounter Ice Maker produces up to 85 pounds of Nugget style ice every 24 hours, under optimal air and water temperature conditions (70 degrees Fahrenheit air temp and 50 degrees Fahrenheit water temp). The internal ice bin has a storage capacity of 22 pounds.

The unit is air-cooled, with a self-contained condenser.

The control panel for the GEMU090 is easy to operate and is located behind the swing-style door.

GEMU090 Ice Maker

The ice maker's slim profile (just under 15 inches wide and just over 33 inches tall) permits installation of this unit in nearly any location, as long as there is plumbing and electrical power.

Because the intake and exhaust air vents for the condenser are located in the front of the unit just beneath the door, the GEMU090 can be placed under a counter or built into cabinetry or a custom equipment configuration. The elegant Stainless Steel cabinet also allows the ice maker to be installed as a free standing unit. Since the GEMU090 is a very quiet ice maker, so you can install it without worrying about disturbing your guests or customers. It is ideal for hotel rooms, executive suites, break rooms, the deck patio, or under the bar.

A standard NEMA 5-15 Three-Prong Plug and 115 Volt power cord makes this ice maker easy to install. It requires a 1/4” (6mm) water connection (compression fitting is provided). The GEMU090 also requires a drain, with a 5/8” drain access located at the bottom back of the unit. If your location does not have an accessible floor drain, an optional drain pump kit is available (KPU090 - sold separately).

For every 100 pounds of nugget ice produced, the GEMU090 uses 12 gallons of water and 10.7 kWH. The minimum circuit amps for the unit are 5 Amps. Minimum incoming water pressure is 20 PSIG and maximum is 80 PSIG. The unit can operate under air temps as low as 50 degrees Fahrenheit and as high as 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

The unit comes with four 1” adjustable legs, so you can keep the ice maker from sitting directly on the floor.

Pearl Ice

Nugget shaped ice, called Pearl Ice® by the manufacturer Ice-O-Matic, is a popular ice style. The nugget holds its shape well in a glass, but melts in your mouth and is soft and chewable. Many casual dining and fast food chain restaurants utilize nugget style ice, so it is in demand everywhere.

The Ice-O-Matic GEMU090 can produce 85 pounds of nugget ice in 24 hours. The ice bin is accessed by opening the front door. Since the internal ice bin stores only 22 pounds of nugget ice at a time, the ice maker is perfect for applications that do not require large quantities of ice. As ice is removed from the bin, the unit continues to make ice, at a rate of approximately 3.5 pounds of ice each hour.

How to Clean Ice O Matic GEMU090

To ensure optimal performance, regular cleaning of the GEMU090 is essential:

• Turn off the ice maker and disconnect it from the power supply.
• Empty the ice bin and discard any remaining ice.
• Use a food-safe ice machine cleaner to clean the internal components, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
• Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove any residue.
• Wipe the stainless steel exterior with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
• Reconnect the power supply and resume operation.
