The Salvajor Company began in the early 1940's with the goal of providing food waste handling systems for the food service industry. The name of the company came from the intention to "salvage" silverware being destroyed during the scrapping and pre-washing of soiled tableware. After securing a steel allocation from the War Production Board and obtaining a requisition from the Department of the Army, Salvajor Company manufactured its stainless steel waste-collecting system for U.S. military camps. Since that time, for more than 70 years, Salvajor has been innovating and providing commercial waste disposers and handling systems for the food service industry.
